Contest: Win a signed copy of Adventures in the Dream Trade by Neil Gaiman

dreamtrade2

Avalon.ph will give away a signed trade paperback copy of Neil Gaiman’s Adventure in the Dream Trade as part of their celebration.

Ten years ago, the first incarnation of Jasper Ong’s brainchild came into being. It was still an auction site back then and it was a bit low-tech. Every transaction was done through email. I discovered the site after it acquired the eAuctions.ph domain but I don’t remember if we communicated through email or an auction script was used already. It doesn’t matter because I acquired several books through them and also when the site became an online store, Avalon.ph. I remember picking up some titles from meet-ups at Megamall and from New Manila. Strange because it always rained when I picked up the books but I digress. I still have those books actually. They’re somewhere in the chaos that is my room. The most recent books I got from them are Calvin and Hobbes, The Princess Bride, and some titles which I refuse to mention here. I guess you can say I’m a loyal customer even though I don’t buy as often as I want to. The reason why I keep on coming back is because of their hard-to-find books which are reasonably priced and  I’m 100% sure I will come back for more books again.

If you want to join the contest, you must complete the phrase “Ten years ago…” either through commenting on their contest post or on your blog. You can get more chances of winning through twitter and for every P500 purchase from the store. Just read the rules here. The contest will run until September 22, 2009. Anybody with a Philippine address (or friends/relatives in the Philippines) may join the contest.

This post serves as my contest entry.
